Future Industrial Services are building a Waste Management Centre based at Acornfield Road in Knowsley. The installation will be called Acornfield Road Waste Management Centre. The site will comprise of a hazardous waste transfer station, solvent bulking, oil water treatment and aqueous effluent treatment plant. In addition to this the site will incorporate the Ash Recyling facility, which will be capable of recycling 150 tonnes of Air Pollution Control residues per day, creating synthetic gypsum for use as a gypsum substitute in the cement industry.
The plant construction is well underway and it is anticipated that the installation will begin to accept waste during June 2008.
